Secularism Across the Globe
Reversing the idea of studying religion and religious expression, we can examine secularism and non-religion — that is, the absence of religion and presence of secular institutions, belief systems, and individuals. Just as religion can be studied at the institutional, organizational, and individual levels, as well as how trends in each may change over time, we can similarly study secularisms. To introduce some basic ways this can be done, we will look at national level data across nations, trend data within a single country, individual level data in connection to socio-demographics, and how wording can influence resulting outcomes.
