Summary

The PRRI/ Religion & Politics Tracking Poll was conducted by Public Religion Research Institute to examine attitudes on breaking news and emerging issues at the intersection of religion and politics. This survey investigated individuals' perceptions of the United States of America. Questions not only assessed views toward America in the world, but also asked questions about American values, American identification, engagement in patriotic activities and American pride.

The ARDA has added four additional variables to the original data set to enhance the users' experience on our site.

Collection Procedures

The survey was designed and conducted by Public Religion Research Institute. Results of the survey were based on bilingual (Spanish and English) RDD telephone interviews conducted between June 5-9, 2013 by professional interviewers under the direction of Social Science Research Solutions (SSRS).

Sampling Procedures

Interviews were conducted among a random sample of 1,007 adults, 18 years of age or older in the continental United States (402 respondents were interviewed on a cell phone).

Notes on Weighted Data

The final sample was weighted to six different parameters -- age, sex, geographic region, race, education and telephone usage -- to ensure reliable and accurate representation of the total adult population. Telephone usage refers to whether respondents have only a landline telephone, only a cell phone or both types and the frequency with which they use each type.
