The PRRI/RNS Religion News Survey was conducted by Public Religion Research Institute to examine attitudes on breaking news and emerging issues at the intersection of religion and politics. This survey investigated respondents' knowledge about the religious beliefs and religious identity of the 2012 presidential candidates. Questions also gauged the extent to which respondents felt the political and religious beliefs of current and past elected officials were similar to or different from their own. The elected officials included Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, and Michelle Bachmann.The ARDA has added five additional variables to the original data set to enhance the users' experience on our site.
