The names, locations and denominational affiliations of congregations shown on the ARDA's GIS maps are drawn from a database constructed by Data Axle. This database includes approximately 350,000 congregations and powers the top 5 Internet search engines and more than 90% of in-vehicle navigation systems in North America. If you want to offer additions or corrections, please notify Data Axle at contentfeedback@data-axle.com

Data Axle constructs the database by drawing information from denominational directories, congregational websites, white pages, yellow page directories, utility sources, and telephone verification. Their compilation associates include information from the yellow pages as the phone books go through the standard update process, and enhance this information with denominational directories and web research. In addition, new churches and religious organizations are identified through utility connects and other public sources, and each month the associates update the entire database using the USPS - NCOA (National Change of Address). Finally, Data Axle's tele-research group calls each congregation to verify and enhance the listed information. This requires approximately 1.5 million calls per year.
