Description: The Bible Presbyterian Church is a fundamentalist church founded in 1938 by the Rev. Carl McIntire, formerly a minister in the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. and one of the founders of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC). Once the OPC split in 1937, McIntire founded the Bible Presbyterian Church to pursue his more conservative convictions. The Bible Presbyterian Church was drastically reduced in size (and re-organized) in 1956 when many churches left to form the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, which would become the Reformed Presbyterian Church, Evangelical Synod, in 1965 via a merger.
