Description: The American Buddhist Shim Gum Do Association was founded by Chang Sik Kim, a Korean Zen Master. During a retreat, the forms of shim gum do (mind sword path) were revealed to Kim. Through martial arts training, shim gum focuses on attaining a clear mind, thought, action, and enlightenment. Students participate in bimonthly tests, while making their progress through 33 black belt levels. The organization offers daily, weekly, and monthly classes, with separate classes for children starting at age five.
