Reformed Presbyterian Church General Assembly (1991 - Present) - Religious Group
Religious Family: Presbyterian/ReformedReligious Tradition: Evangelical Protestant
Description: The Reformed Presbyterian Church General Assembly traces its origin to 1983 when congregations in Georgia withdrew from the Presbyterian Church in America. By 1990, after two name changes, the group formed by these congregations was called the Reformed Presbyterian Church in the Americas. However, after internal disruption of this group in 1990-1991, one of this group's four presbyteries dissolved and another became independent, forming the Reformed Presbyterian Church (Hanover Presbytery). The other two presbyteries reorganized as this group in 1991.
