Description: The Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations was formed in 1979 as the first congregational association of among Jewish followers of Jesus, normally called by his Hebrew name, Yeshua. The goals of the group are to advocate for Messianic Judaism, develop Messianic synagogues, and train Messianic leaders. In 1981, the Union adopted the statement of faith of the National Association of Evangelicals, though modified the terminology for Jewish Christians.
