Description: The Association of Fundamental Ministers and Churches was founded in 1931 by former members of the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana). These included Rev. Fred Bruffett, who had been disfellowshiped from the church because of fellowshipping with other churches, and his wife, Hallie Bruffett. Additional founding members included Rev. Paul Bennett, Rev. George Fisher, and six other members from the Church of God. Doctrinally, they are similar to the Church of God, but allow for doctrinal disagreement, and they believe that the experience of new birth is necessary for fellowhip.
