Randall, Benjamin - Timeline Biography

Time Period

02-07-1749 - 10-22-1808

Description

Benjamin Randall was converted during one of George Whitefield's preaching tours in 1770. After serving in the Revolutionary War, Randall began to preach as a Particular Baptist, but his views on predestination did not match the Calvinistic views of his denomination. Randall believed in free grace and not election, that God's offer of salvation was open to all people, not just to a limited number chosen by God for salvation. In 1779, Randall left the denomination and founded a new congregation in New Durham, New Hampshire, starting the "Randall" line of the Freewill Baptist church.
