Description
In 1707, Welsh Baptist immigrants to Pennsylvania formed the Philadelphia Baptist Association (PBA), the first permanent Baptist denomination in America. Churches in the area had been holding annual meetings for several years prior, but 1707 marked the association's formal organization in order "to consult about such things as were wanting in the churches, and to set them in order."
